Incumbents prevail in Saturday elections

Incumbents won all available races in Saturday's city and school board elections.
District 1 City Councilman Glenn McGuire and District 3 Councilman Kelvin Beachum will both return to their seats.
McGuire, with 33 votes, defeated opponent Jacqueline Gee, who drew 18 votes.
Beachum earned 5 votes to beat opponent Ed Rhodes, who drew one vote.
All three incumbents with open races in the Mexia ISD election today will return to their seats on the board.
Place 2 trustee Cheryl Cockrell, with 170 votes, defeated opponent Shelly Hullum, who brought in 138 votes.
Place 1 trustee Lon Brown, currently board president, received 213 votes, and Place 3 trustee Culetta Beachum received 207 votes. Neither drew an opponent.
