Eight Blackcats earn All District

Accolades fell upon eight Blackcats baseball players as the 19-3A All-District Baseball Team was released this week.
Catcher Zach York and second baseman Clynt Platt received All-District Honorable Mention.
York batted .275 during the season, collecting 14 hits and scored 17 runs. Platt was .314 at the plate with 16 hits, two doubles, 16 RBI and scored 10 runs.
Utility player Sidney Bryant made First Team All-District at that position. Bryant batted .233 and had 14 hits, which included a double and a triple while scoring 21 runs and driving in 12 RBI.
Brady Walker also joined Bryant as a first team pitcher. Walker was 4-3 on the season with an ERA of 2.54 in 41.1 innings worked. He also compiled 53 strikeouts against opposing batters.
At the plate, Walker hit .281 with 18 hits, six of those going for doubles. He scored 13 runs and knocked in eight RBI.
Blake Lewis and Zach Reece were named to the Second Team All-District as pitchers.
