Charlie ‘Bino’ Majors Jr.
Funeral services for Charlie “Bino” Majors Jr. will be held on Saturday June 8, at 11 a.m. at Greater Haynes Memorial C.O.G.I.C, 601 N. Denton St. in Mexia.
Elder Billy R. Johnson will officiate, and Elder C.D. Washington will be the eulogist. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Family and friends may visit Mr. Majors as he slumbers in sweet repose at Pearly Gates Funeral Home, Friday June 7, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Mr. Majors was born July 7, 1934, to the parentage of Florene Hudson Majors and Charlie Majors Sr. in Mexia. He was called home on June, 2, 2013.
He was previously employed as a construction worker at Varo Inc. and later was a farmer.
Charlie joined Bethsadia Baptist Church in Mexia at an early age. He was united in holy matrimony to Margie Helen Clark in 1957. To this union, five children were born.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Margie Smith; his mother, Florene Majors, and father Charlie Majors Sr.; three brothers, Calvin Majors, Aaron Majors, and Otis Majors; and three sisters, Alice Majors, Dorothy Dawkins and Annie Joe Serino; and one grandson, Darius Dawson.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Margie Majors; daughters Dixie (Llewellen ) Porter, of Dallas, Rhonda (Billy) Johnson, of Fort Worth, Velva Johnson, of Mexia, and Francis (Donald) Thomas, of Mexia; son Vintre (Kate) Majors, of Mexia; two sisters Lillian Tennison, and Edna Carter; one brother, Fred (Jean) Majors; 18 grand-children, 13 great-grand children, several neices, nephews and cousins; and a host of relatives and many friends.
