Martha Theresa Adams Skipper, 61, of Lake Mexia, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at her residence. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, June 5, at 2 p.m. at Porter Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Joe Cooper officiating. Interment will be held at a later date at the Waxahachie City Cemetery.
Theresa was born May 31, 1951, in Dallas, to Vernon and Bobbie Adams. She was employed with Limestone County as their Crime Victims Coordinator. Her career in law enforcement spanned 11 years of dedicated service. She enjoyed fishing and was an avid dog lover. She was on the board of directors and active with LARAs House.
She married B.J. Skipper on April 21, 1990. They moved to Lake Mexia in 2004.
Mrs. Skipper was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, B.J. Skipper; sons, Zachary Shanz of Hewitt, Johnny Shanz of Dallas, and Jackie Shanz of Ennis; stepdaughter, Leah Williams of Lacy Lakeview; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Debbie Peavy and husband, Steve of Maypearl and brother, Gary Adams of Dallas.
