Reading levels on MISD board agenda
By Brenda Sommer
The Mexia ISD board of trustees have a fairly light load on the agenda for their Monday night regular monthly board meeting.
Most of the items are matters that come up at every monthly meeting: reports from the superintendent, assistant superintendent and executive director of finance, approval of operating checks, financial reports, utility and tax reports and minutes of previous meetings.
In answer to a request for the information at last month’s regular monthly meeting, trustees will be presented with figures on the number of students reading below grade level, and the number of students held back a year in each grade.
In new business, trustees will consider and vote on a suggestion that a thank-you note or card be placed in statements sent out to delinquent taxpayers by the law firm that does collections for the district.
