Rolando Olivares, 26, of Mexia, passed away Sept. 11, 2013. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 14, at Calvary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Mario Rivera officiating. Interment will follow in the Mexia Cemetery.
Rolando was born Sept. 30, 1986, in Fairfield, to Jose Olivares Sr. and Antonita “Tonie” Rivera Contreras. He worked at Cen-Tex for many years. Rolando had a very outgoing personality and was very active in the community. He was loved by all who knew him. Rolando was an active member of Nueva Vida Assembly of God Church.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Manuel Olivares; maternal grandfather Santiago Rivera; and brother Joey Olivares.
Rolando is survived by his mother and stepfather, Antonita “Tonie” and Saul Contreras, of Mexia; father Jose Olivares Sr., of Mexia; maternal grandmother Rosalinda Hernandez, of Mexia; paternal grandmother Porforia Olivarez, of Alice; sister Rosemary Olivares, and husband Roy Gowan, of Mexia; brother Joel Olivares and wife Jessica, of Mexia; nieces and nephews Reyna Olivares, Joey Olivares, Brihanna Olivares, Roy Gowan III, Janessa Olivares and Rhylin Gowan; a number of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. He will always be in our hearts.
Pallbearers will be Joel Olivares, Roy Gowan II, Manuel Olivares Jr., Mark Rodriguez, Leo Olivares and Eloy Alviter.
