Mexia sales tax rebate down again this month

Sales tax distributions to Mexia were down again last month, and have now dropped below the amount gathered year-to-date last year.

The city of Mexia received $201,956 this period, down 11.27 percent from the $227,614 reported sent in this month in 2012. Year-to-date, Mexia has received $2,118,395, down .35 of a percent from the $2,125,864 year-to-date total 12 months ago.

Revenues this month were down 10.66 percent in Groesbeck, with that town set to receive $54,250 this period compared to $60,727 a year ago. That city, year-to-date, is ahead 1.98 percent compared to a year ago.

Elsewhere in Limestone County, Kosse saw revenues rise 11.95 percent when compared to the same month a year ago, to $5,623. Thornton’s figure was $593.16, a 46.89 percent decrease from August 2012.
