Many local businesses, executives and professionals were honored at the Mexia Area Chamber of Commerce Awards Dinner Tuesday evening for their work and its positive influence on Mexia.
The Citizen of the Year Award went to Cox Robert “Bob” Crider, curator of the Mexia Public Schools Museum, and the Organization of the Year Award went to the Mexia Public Schools Museum and Alumni Association.
The awards are given to those who have shown themselves to be true supporters of the community, said Chamber President Linda Archibald, who shared emcee duties with Marcus Sheffield.
