Bluegrass Christmas coming to Reunion Grounds
Confederate Reunion Grounds State Historic Site invites the public to celebrate the holiday season with “A Bluegrass Christmas” from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8. Admission is free.
The schedule of events for the day will include performances by The Bluegrass Solution, a Houston-based bluegrass band, playing hard-driving traditional bluegrass and bluegrass gospel music beneath the historic 1893 dance pavilion. There will also be a special guest appearance by Karl Shiflett, nationally acclaimed band leader of “The Karl Shiflett & Big Country Show.”
“The event is part of the ‘Camp Coffee, Cobbler & Jam’ music series that presents different genres of music and campfire cooking historically related to the Confederate Reunion Grounds,” Dixie Hoover, site manager, said. “We will also be decorating the historic pavilion for the holiday season this year.”
