City considers rental fees, lodge grant

Mexia City Council will consider changing the rental fees for the convention center and a shooting lodge’s request for hotel/motel tax funds when they meet Tuesday night.

Currently the city charges a higher rental rate for use of the convention center to those who live outside the city limits.

However, many people who want to use the facility, while living outside the city limits, own businesses within the city.

Also, some renters don’t live in the city limits but have a relative who does sign off on the contract.
