Frigid low temps to continue
By Brenda Sommer
Limestone County folks were lucky to be east of I-35, dodging sleet and freezing rain for the most part Sunday and yesterday, though below-freezing low temperatures will continue through Thanksgiving night.
Forecasts from the National Weather Service placed Limestone County under a winter weather warning for Sunday afternoon through last night. That called for a high likelihood of ice pellets, sleet and ice accumulations across the county, but temperatures never fell below freezing. Instead, rain and wet roads were the major hazards Sunday and Monday morning, though a chance of snow remained for last night as another cold front moved into Texas.
Today there is a chance of light snow this morning, but that chance will end by lunchtime.
