Virginia Lee LaRue

Virginia Lee LaRue, 85, of Mexia, passed away Nov. 30, 2013 at her residence. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 3, at 2:30 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Mexia with Rev. James Hooper and Rev. Ricky Cundieff officiating. Interment will follow at Mexia Cemetery. Family visitation will be held Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Porter Funeral Home.
LaRue was born April 11, 1928 in Crockett, to Will and Della Braux Chrisner. She was a graduate of Mexia High School and retired with JCPenney here in Mexia. She met Henry while he was stationed at Camp Mexia (the POW camp which is now the Mexia State Supp­­orted Living Center), and they were married in 1944.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents and eight siblings.
Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Henry Charles LaRue of Mexia; daughter, Elaine Schulte and husband, Bill of Mexia; son, Larry LaRue and wife, Cleshay of Mexia; grandchildren, Laramie LaRue of Mexia, Blaine Schulte and wife Tammy of Lorena, Bruce Schulte of Mexia, William Schulte Jr. and wife Judy of Clyde, and Belinda Coots of Abilene; great-grandchildren, Brittany and Bethany Schulte of Lorena, Brandie Weatherman of Abilene and Bryan and Jeffrey Schulte of Clyde; numerous nieces and nephews and special friend and caregiver, Travis Wagner.
Serving as pallbearers are David Beard, Joe Edd New, Bill Schulte, Bryan Schulte, Jeffrey Schulte, Billy Ray Patterson, Brian Chrisner, Bill Doss, Randy Teel and Jess Whisler. Honorary pallbearers are Bobby New, Eddie Chrisner and John Tacker.
