Just when everyone thought the ice from last weekend was over, the Blackcats picked up a loose shard and tucked it away in their freezer already filled with opponents that have fallen victim during their expedition so far this season.
The latest entry was Lorena, whom last weekend tried to host their own tournament, but ended up canceling it due to the winter blast that hit most of Texas.
In a makeup game from the tournament, the Blackcats ended up reminding the Leopards on Tuesday night who the better of the two cats is by clawing out a 62-44 win behind the “cold” shooting of newcomer Trey Barstow.
And what I mean by “cold” is that Barstow knocked down 19 points (9 of those from the result of three-pointers) to lead the team in scoring, while teammates LaVictor McKnight (13 points) and Kaylon Watson (10 points) combined for 23. The 19 points is Barstow’s biggest point total since the Robinson game back on Nov. 22 when he scored 16.
