Doris Helen Henderson
Funeral services for Ms. Doris Helen Henderson will be held Saturday, Dec. 21, at 1 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 203 N. Canton St. in Mexia.
Officiating will be the Rev. Claude Jackson, and the eulogist will be the Rev. Robert Campbell. Family and friends may visit Ms. Henderson as she slumbers in sweet repose at Pearly Gates Funeral Home on Friday, Dec. 20, from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m.
Doris Helen “Baby” Henderson was born April 3, 1949, to the parentage of David Henderson and Fankie Taulton, in Coolidge.
She attended Dunbar High School in Mexia and also attended public schools in Dallas.
Doris was a member of Union Memorial United Methodist Church. She joined at an early age then became a member of St. Luke United Methodist, were she attended over 25 years. She worked several years in home health care, doing what she loved, caring for others.
Doris died Wednesday, Dec. 11, at Parkview Regional Hospital, with her family and friends present.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, two brothers, one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
She leaves to cherish her memories: sons Pat (Tammy) Henderson, of Marlin, Fred (Ersula) Henderson, of Mart, Corey Henderson, of Dallas, Eric (Latosha) Henderson, of Mexia, Robert (Nisha) Henderson, of Mexia, Anthony (Travikia) Henderson, of Mexia, Cordney Henderson, of Mexia, Dedrick (Christie) Isadore, of Mexia; daughters Larita (Perry) Henderson, of Mexia, Dee (Michelle) Henderson, of Coolidge, Rita Brooks, of Mexia, LaTonya (James) Hendeson, of Mexia, Candice Anderson, of Teague, Delonda (Ricky) Calhoun, of Teague, Jocelyn Anderson, of Mexia, Shana (Rodrick) Greer, of Mexia; a very special person in her life, Bobby Joe Anderson; a devoted cousin, Lucy Boyd, of Mexia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
