Tennie Lee Ferrell
Funeral services for Tennie Lee Ferrell will be held Saturday, Dec. 28, at 1 p.m. at Union Memorial United Methodist Church, in the Sandy Community; Pastor Monroe Allen will be the eulogist.
Tennie Ferrell was born Dec. 2, 1945, in Coolidge, the first daughter to be born to the late R.C. Collins and Mattie Pearl Baker.
Tennie received her education from Coolidge Independent School District. She worked 30 years at the Manor Nursing Home in Mexia.
Tennie was united in holy matrimony to Clarence Edward Ferrell on April 3, 1970. To this union, five children were born.
She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
On Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at Hillcrest Baptist Hospital, Tennie was called home to be at rest. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence E. Ferrell; parents R.C. Collins and Mattie P. Baker; brother Billy C. Baker; and sister Vettie M. Hayes.
She leaves to witness her homegoing: children Phillip R. Ferrell (Ginger), Barbara A. Calhoun (Johnny), Clarence E. Ferrell Jr., Tyrone D. Ferrell and LaTonya Y. Ferrell (Bobby), all of Coolidge; sisters the Rev. Mattie Sibley (James), Ida Clark, Lucille Baker (Melvin), Lillie Mae Moralos and Temoio Love, all of Fort Worth; brother R.C. Collins Jr. of Shreveport, La.; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; longtime friends Ella Bows, Ruby Hollie (just like a sister) and Erline Driver; Luther Henderson (just like a son); and a host of nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
