A house fire in Limestone County Friday night saw five local fire departments respond.

Firefighters were called about 9:10 p.m. to a wooden frame house at 450 LCR 462, near its intersection with LCR 464, which is southeast of Limestone County Airport and east of Hwy 14.

The fire departments of Mexia, Lake Mexia, Tehuacana, Shiloh and Groesbeck responded, bringing about 16-18 personnel and about eight vehicles. Several Mexia Police officers were also on hand to help in ancillary ways.

Mexia firefighter and officer in charge Charlie Pickett said at least two people lived in the house, a couple, but no one was in the home when the fire started.
