The Blackcats collected a little sweet revenge in their final game of the 2013 Whataburger Basketball Tournament last Saturday.

Although Mexia fell short in their bid to overtake the Alvarado Indians on the gridiron this past football season, the Blackcats ended up defeating them on the hardwood pretty handily, 66-55.

The Indians came out raining down three-pointers at the start to go up 9-3, but Mexia’s steady defense halted that flood and the offense, led by Trey Barstow’s six points and Ike Jones five, helped put the game back into perspective as the Blackcats moved on top by the close of the quarter, 20-16.

Mexia led at the half, 34-27.
