Mr. Cornelius Polk, a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend to all, transitioned from this earthy life on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014.
Mr. Cornelius Polk, also known as "CP," was born on Jan. 3, 1932, to the proud parents of Jim and Julia (Shannon) Polk. He was the oldest of five siblings.
Cornelius confessed Christ at an early age. He was a fun-loving man; if asked a question, he would oftentimes answer back in a joking manner. He also had a serious side, though. He said what he meant and he meant what he said.
During his lifetime, he was owner and co-owner of many business in the Dallas area and surrounding areas. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, James O. Polk and Clifton Polk; and two sisters, Jessie C. Polk and Frances M. (Polk) Haven.
He leaves his most cherished memories to his loving children, two daughters: Mary J. Ray (Warren), of Houston, Kashaylan R. Woolen (John), of Dallas; three sons, Terry S. Williams, James C. Polk and Reginald McDaniels, of Dallas; five grandchildren, Tresa Lewis and Louis Ray, of Los Angeles, Jaden Polk, Kedarian Roberts and Jayden Woolen, of Dallas; and five great-grandchildren, Brandon, Donovan, Louis Jr., Chyene and Nashia, of Los Angeles; nieces, nephews, cousin and a host of friends.
