The No. 15 ranked Blackcats are off to a great start in the playoffs after dispensing with the Diboll Lumberjacks, 76-59, to win the bi-district round Tuesday night at Sam Houston State University’s Bernard G. Johnson Coliseum.
Mexia scored 25 points in the first quarter, led by Trey Barstow with five. Five other Blackcat players pitched in four points each as they led 25-13.
The second period was all Blackcats up until the final few minutes of the half.
