Motorcycle-car crash sends man to hospital

A car and motorcycle collided 4 miles west of Mexia Thursday morning, sending the cyclist to an area hospital.
The accident happened on FM 2838 just north of U.S. 84 at about 11:45 a.m.
Bobby Todd, 70, of Granbury, was driving a 2011 Hyundai Sonata sedan southbound on FM 2838. He said he is an employee at the Mexia State Supported Living Center and had just left the facility.
Todd said he turned left to enter the small fork the road makes as it intersects U.S. 84 in preparation for turning eastbound toward Mexia.
Meanwhile Ricky Blackmon, 58, of Mexia, was driving a 2004 Harley Davidson Dyna Wide Glide motorcycle and had just turned north onto FM 2838 where it begins at U.S. 84.
