Seems most of Thursday and Friday’s events got rained out.
Mexia’s tennis team was supposed to compete in the Madisonville match on Thursday, but “Mother Nature” changed her mind and decided Friday would be better.
The change didn’t seem to dampen the play of Mexia’s Nemesis Robles as he slid through his competition to finish first in Boys Singles.
Robles began the match by defeating Westwood’s Banh, 8-3, and Centerville’s Jalufka, 8-5, to make it to the semifinals. From there he went on to shutout Madisonville’s Zavala, 8-0, and went on to face Saldana (Madisonville) to win the championship, 8-5.
