Novella Virginia Collins

Funeral services for Novella Collins will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 2, at Lone Star Baptist Church, 629 Grayson St. in Groesbeck. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 1, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Pearly Gates Funeral Home, with family present from 6 to 7 p.m.. Eulogist will be Pastor Nathaniel Bedford, and burial will take place at Lone Star Cemetery.
Novella Virginia Collins was born Oct. 25, 1941, to the parentage of Aubrey and Mary Lou Johnson. She was the seventh child (the baby) born to this union.
Novella attended and graduated from Blackshire High School. Novella was a loving and devoted mother a wonderful sister, friend and aunt. She was dedicated to her family, and loved to laugh and have fun. Novella will be truly missed.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Joe Collins; sisters, Ruby Jackson, Idell Jackson and Norma Pettis; and brothers, A.J. Johnson and C.D. Johnson.
Novella leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Gary (Cayle) Johnson and Craig (Lisa) Johnson, both of Dallas; step-daughter, Sophia Owens; sister, Dorothy Love of Dallas; five grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, friends and family.
