Coolidge's Kirven medals at state


Dianna Kirven tops out at 5-2 in the High Jump during her only event on Friday afternoon at the UIL State Track Championship in Austin.

Coolidge’s Dianna Kirven picked up a second place medal in the Class 1A DII Girls 400 Meter Dash and a third place medal in the High Jump at the 2014 UIL State Track Championship held in Austin on Friday and Saturday.
Kirven got off to a great start Saturday afternoon in the 400 Meter Dash and kept some distance ahead of the competition until Clavert’s Tiffany Williams, who was running a couple of lanes over on the inside, broke away to finish in first. Kirven battled to the end, finishing with a time of 58.94.
The Yellowjackets Delvin Smith also competed Saturday morning in the Triple Jump. Smith reached his best distance on his first attempt with a mark of 43-02 that ended up putting him in fourth place at the end of the competition.
