MISD offering summer driver's ed course
Space is limited for a driver's education course to be held at Mexia High School this summer.
The Mexia ISD board of trustees, at the suggestion of Superintendent Sharon Ross, agreed in April to have the school host the course after inquiries from parents who wanted the district to offer it.
Only 32 students who are age 15 before June 16 will be allowed to take the course, which is open to students in the Bi-Stone area.
The course, which includes all classroom and driving components, costs $350 and runs June 16 through July 3 at the high school. Classes meet Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to noon, but students may only miss one class.
Students must bring an original birth certificate and Social Security card to the first day of classes.
Pat Adams will schedule driving times once students receive their permits. For more information, call Adams at 254-747-2799.
