Weldaleen Satterwhite of Waco passed away Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Providence Hospice Place after a brief battle with cancer. Honoring her wishes, there will be no formal services.
Weldaleen was born Jan. 28, 1945, in Mexia, to Weldon and Elsie (Phillips) Hamill. She earned a bachelor of arts degree in education in 1967 and a masters degree in education in 1971 from Baylor University. She was a loyal and dedicated Baylor alumni and fan. “Sic ‘em Bears!” She had a 47-year career with Waco ISD and teaching was her passion. Her motto was, "kids motivated academically will succeed in life."
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, David Satterwhite; sister, Emma Lee Neighbors; and brother, Phillip Hamill.
She is survived by daughter, Candyce Kay Boyer, and husband, Sean Lee, of Mart; granddaughter, Grace Kaylee; sister, Kay Hamill of Dallas; and too many friends and colleagues to name.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the caring nurses, Holly, Bronda, Floyce, Leah, Shantese, Susan and Margie.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Providence Hospice Place. The family invites you to leave a message or memory in our memorial guestbook at WHBfamily.com.
