Mexia graduating seniors were commended and encouraged by local church leaders at the annual baccalaureate service Sunday, June 1.
The event was held at the high school auditorium, which was just about filled to capacity.
Though the event is voluntary and not an official school function because of its religious nature, most of the graduates attended, entering to “Pomp and Circumstance,” played by Wynona Lipsett on the auditorium’s grand piano.
