Tom P. Gee

The angelic hosts came for Tom P. Gee, 50, on Thursday, June 26, 2014, at his Sandy Community home in Coolidge, among loving family and devoted friends. A
Viewing will be held Thursday July 3, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. with the family present from 6 to 7 p.m. at Moore’s Angelic Funeral Home, 406 Monroe St. in Teague. Viewing and visitation will also take place Friday, July 4, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Union Memorial United Methodist Church in Sandy Community.
Funeral services are 11 a.m., Saturday, July 5, in the Union Memorial United Methodist Church in the Sandy Community of Coolidge. Rev. Sylvester Key II, pastor, will serve as the eulogist and Pastor Kennen Jackson will officiate. Interment will follow at Sandy Creek Cemetery.
Tom P. Gee was born Aug. 13, 1963 in Coolidge, Limestone County, the eighth child born to Winford Gee Sr. and Bertha Reed Gee
He graduated from Mexia High School with the class of 1982. He was married to Lisa Johnson in Groesbeck, and to this union two daughters were born.
Tom confessed his faith and belief in Christ at an early age at Union Memorial Methodist Church, Sandy Community, where he attended until his death. He served under the leadership of Rev. Sylvester Key II. During his membership, he served on the usher board for many years.
Tom was a dedicated worker at the Mexia Independent School District as a bus driver and custodian for several years. He retired from MISD in 2010. He also worked for a time at Walmart in Mexia. Tom loved old school and blues music and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was a member of the Pioneer Club of Groesbeck.
Tom will best be remembered for his outgoing personality, being one of a kind, his love of barbecue and pork chops, and keeping an immaculate lawn.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Donald W. Gee.
Those left to cherish his memory most are his loving daughters, Berlinda Gee and Toni Gee; three granddaughters, Svea Gee, Linda Gee and Jolynn Gee, all of Phoenix, Ariz..; three brothers, Winford Gee Jr. and his wife Jackie, of Mexia, James R. Gee and wife Grace, of Mount Pleasant, Robert L. Gee and wife Nicole, of Mexia; four sisters, Verta Carter of Mexia, Thelma Gee-Brown of Irving, Merlene Kirven and husband Donald, of Coolidge, and Darlene Gee, of Mesquite; a loving stepmother, Patricia Gee of Coolidge, and a host of nephews, nieces and friends.
