MISD picks up pace in bond issue planning
By Mike Eddleman
Mexia ISD is shifting its push for a November bond election into high gear as the August deadline to call the election approaches.
The Mexia ISD Board of Trustees will discuss the issue at its regular meeting Monday.
In late spring, Superintendent Sharon Ross set in motion the plan for a November election, which must be called by Aug. 18. The primary stumbling block so far has been the need to identify the priorities from a 2012 facilities study to keep costs down, something the facilities committee is meeting on this month and the board of trustees will discuss at Monday's regular meeting.
Ross is also planning a series of meetings and opportunities to share information with the public and get a sense of what the community will support.
