County commissioners have a short agenda for their meeting Monday, Nov. 24, but are scheduled to take a final vote on closing LCR 229, which is in Pct. 3 near Tehuacana.
The court will also possibly approve the sale of two tax-foreclosed lots in Groesbeck and renew a contract with Groesbeck’s Maffett Memorial Library.
Pct. 3 Commissioner W.A. “Sonny” Baker requested the closure of LCR 229 at the court’s Aug. 10 meeting, at the suggestion of Steve Miller, who owns the land on both sides of the road.
The road had initially been built by Vulcan Materials when the company planned to do some excavation in that area. Plans changed, however, and the road was never used for that purpose or any other.
