Peggy Dean Ballard
    Peggy Dean Ballard, 74, of Teague passed away on Monday, July 20, 2009 at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center.  Funeral Services were Friday, July 24, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Porter Funeral Home Chapel in Mexia.  Interment followed at Mexia Cemetery.  Visitation was Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
    Peggy was born on March 25, 1935 to Elmer and Jennie V. Hawkins.  She was married to Glynard (Buddy) Ballard on August 23, 1950 in Mexia, Texas.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister; Patsy Hawkins, in laws; Joe & Pauline Ballard and sister-in-law, Betty Moore as well as a grandchild and great grandchild.
    She is survived by her six children; Elmer Ballard and wife, Patti of Fairfield, Texas; Billy Ballard and wife, Sue of Streetman, Texas;  Susain Shaw and husband, Herb of Normangee, Texas; Melvin Ballard and Wife, Lillian of Teague, Texas; Glyna and Blelve Bridges of Teague, Texas and Slinda Childers and husband, Mickey of Teague, Texas; Grandchildren, Phillip and Michele Ballard of Fairfield, Texas; Ethan and Gayelynn Ballard of Leander, Texas; Jeremy and Stephanie Ballard of Princeton, Texas; Jayme and Nicole Ballard of Streetman, Texas; Misty and James Light of Hilltop Lakes, Texas; Jay Shaw of Dallas, Texas; Wendy and Richard Ross of Normangee, Texas; Jim and Amber Shaw of Normangee, Texas; Tiffany Ballard of Beaumont, Texas; Kaytie and Casey Story of Fairfield, Texas; Josh Kerzee of Santa Fe, Texas; Shea and Tim Thompson of Dew, Texas and Sammantha Childers and Evie Childers of Teague, Texas, Brother-in-law; Joe (Sonny ) Ballard and wife, Panda of North Carolina; Sister-in-law, Claudine Jones of Crowley, Texas, Sister; Glenda Hall and Husband Cleatus of Mexia, Texas; eighteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
    Pallbearers were, Clint Coleman, Jay Shaw, Jim Shaw, Ethan Ballard, Jeremy Ballard, Jayme Ballard, Matthew Hall, Casey Story & Timothy Thompson.

Ella Lee
Funeral services were held for Ella Lee, age 81, of 2104 Alexander Street in Waco, Texas.  She was 81 and was a resident of the Mexia Nursing Home.  Services were held on Thursday, July 23, 2009 at the Dorsey-Keatts Chapel.  Interment was at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
    Mrs. Lee was born on February 6, 1928 in Madison County.  She died on July 15, 2009 at the nursing home. She was a nurse before retiring.
    She is survived by one son, James (Mamie) Jefferson of Natches, La; two daughter, Nell (Lloyd) McDaniel of Mexia, Texas and Elouise Alexander of Waco; one brother, A. B. (Esther) Joey of Lubbock; two sisters, June Posey and Johnnie Josey, both of San Jose, California; 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren,; 19 great-great grandchildren; two devoted friends, Alice Bidelspach and Sue Getterman; one very devoted cousin, Linda Holder and a host of other relatives and friends.
