Joyce Ann Duncan, 93, of Chandler, Texas, passed away on August 24, 2009 at Tyler, Texas. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 28, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Porter Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Marcus Sheffield and Reverend Randy Robinson officiating. Interment will follow at Mexia Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held Thursday evening from 6-7 p.m. and again at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
Joyce was born on May 29, 1916 in Troup, Texas to Lonnie Franklin and Minnie Murphy Wilbourn. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mexia as well as a member of the Eastern Star and attended the Rebecca Lodge. Joyce was loved by many family and friends and will be deeply missed.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton "Bill" Duncan; parents and a grandson, Tim Duncan. She is survived by her children, Clinton "Bill" Duncan, Jr. & wife, Margie of Irving, Jerry Duncan & wife, Dodi of Irving and Bessie Robinson & husband, Robert of Chandler; 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Jason Newman, Kevin Newman, Lance Duncan, Tyler Robinson, Duncan Robinson & Danny Robinson.

Avery Clay McKinney
Avery Clay McKinney, 96, passed away August 24, 2009, in the Manor Healthcare Residence. Services will be held Friday morning at 10 o'clock (August 28, 2009) at Porter Funeral Home Chapel, Mexia. The Rev. Jeff Powers will officiate. Visitation with family is scheduled for tonight (Thursday) from 6 until 8 o'clock.
Mr. McKinney lived most of his life in the Cotton Gin area, also living seven years in Fairfield. He was born October 3, 1912, to Henry Clay and Magdalene Berthelsen McKinney.
Avery McKinney was a master carpenter, noted area contractor and later, owner of Avery's Peach Orchard. He also compiled family genealogy for a period of 45 years. Avery loved hunting, fishing, trapping, gardening and woodworking.
A carpenter from the age of seven, Mr. McKinney became a farmer of cotton and corn from his late youth through World War II, and contracted homes in the Mexia area from 1950 through 1774. He built his last home for himself and his wife, Virginia, in 1987 at the age of 75.
He married Virginia Hearon of Cotton Gin, on January 12, 1935. A Baptist for most of his life, Avery most recently became a member of First Baptist Church of Teague. He was married to Patsy J. Willard on November 20, 2000.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 59 years, Virginia McKinney; brothers - Andrew John McKinney and Leon Enovol McKinney; and by infant twin brothers.
Surviving are Patsy J. McKinney; a son, Avery Edsel McKinney and wife Mary Ann of LaVerne, California; a son, Lynn Clay McKinney and wife Debbie of Waco; a daughter, Nancy Virginia Barrow and husband Joe of Cotton Gin; 11 grandchildren - Julie Eve Denman and husband Tim of Lake Jackson; Michael Wayne McKinney and wife Margaret of Spring; Mark Alan McKinney and wife Linda of Bankok, Thailand; Lori Ann Young and husband Ken of Upland, California; Joseph Jon McKinney and wife Luann of Hesperia, California; Sheri Lynn Fieseler and husband Paul of Sierra Madre, California; Tonya Velynn Rodrequez and husband Marcos of Waco; Avery Edward McKinney and wife Leslie of Robinson; Matthew Seder McKinney, Nicholas Clay McKinney and Ch,ristina Elizabeth McKinney, all of Waco.
Also surviving are 17 great-grandchildren - Tyler Davis Denman, Matthew Ryan McKinney, Samantha Erin McKinney, John Michael McKinney, Brandon Alan McKinney, Justin Alan McKinney, Arianna Michelle McKinney, Zachary Jacob Young, Curtis Jacob Young, Benjamin Jacob Young, Cameron Joseph McKinney, Flint Patrick Fieseler, Marcos Novelo Rodriguez, Ashlye Yvonne Rodriguez, Elijah Joaquin Rodriguez, Johnathan Lucas Morton and Ty Avery McKinney.
Also surviving are three great-great-grandchildren - Marcos Novelo Rodriguez III, Marlaina Gizielle Rodriquez and Nattalie Brianna Rodriquez.
Also surviving is a sister, Pauline Katherine Keys of Cotton Gin; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Wiley passed away last Friday in the Central Texas Veteran's Health Care System in Temple among loving family and devoted friends. Viewing will be held at the Funeral Home Friday August 28, 2009 from 10:00 AM-6:00 PM along with a Wake Service from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM with the Family present. Viewing will be held from 12:00 Noon until the Funeral Services begin Saturday, August 29, 2009 at 1:00 PM in the Lone Star Missionary Baptist Church, 629 North Grayson Street, Groesbeck, Rev. Nathaniel Bedford, pastor. Minister Kelvin Hodges of Dallas will officiate and Apostle Charles E. Leach of Dallas will be the Eulogist. Interment will be in the Lone Star Cemetery of Groesbeck.
Mr. Wiley was born in Groesbeck to Coolidge Wiley and Pearl Annabelle Boyd Wiley. He was employed by the Post Office in Dallas and had returned to Groesbeck to live.
Surviving Mr. Wiley are: His sons: Auntjuan Monteal Wiley, Dallas and Jeremy Dewayne Nyagoko, Groesbeck; His brother: Melvin Lee Wiley, Ft. Worth; His sisters: Pearlie Mae Amos and husband, Billie and Helen Faye Harris and husband, William all of Groesbeck; A special friend: Clarisa Milligan, Austin, TX; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Betty Lee Williamson
Betty Lee Williamson, 67, of Mexia went to live with her Lord on August 24, 2009. Funeral services will be 2 PM Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel. Rev. Jeff Wright will officiate with interment to follow in the Mexia Cemetery.
Betty was born April 23, 1942 in Taylor, Texas to Leonard and Lena Grabs Rinderknecht. She has lived in Mexia for over 40 years. Betty had been an employee of the Mexia ISD for the last 5 1/2 years. She was a very loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She treasured the time she spent with her family, friends and church. Betty was a longtime member of Northside Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Neal Williamson; a granddaughter, Amanda Dabney; and a sister, Barbara Ponder.
She is survived by her son, Paul Wilder and wife, Janalyn of Dallas; daughters, Rebecca Sterling and husband, Tim, Tammy Nance, Kelley Starnes and husband, Steven, Michelle Lawless and husband, Shannon all of Mexia and Jessica Riley and husband, Don of New Mexico; grandchildren, Nicholas and Jordon Lawless of Mexia, Misty Lowder and John Wilder of Dallas, Eric Sterling and Amy Rodriquez of Mexia, Jamie Wilder, Jimmy Henderson and Cory Henderson of Groesbeck, Gary Henderson of Teague, Lauren Rodriquez, Steven Starnes and Cherish Hicks of Mexia, B. G.
