Bi-Stone tractor enthusiasts to gather
    The Bi-Stone Antique Tractor Club will have a gathering in the Teague City Park this coming Saturday and Sunday, reminds Marles Pace, Founder of the club from Wortham. For further information, you may call Marles at 765-3537. The meeting is free to the public to view and to discuss old tractors, new tractors, old and new farm equipment.
    There will be food, music, an auction, arts and crafts. “And, plenty of free parking,” reminds Pace.   
   
Ft. Parker group meets tonight
    The Fort Parker Historical Society will meet tonight at 6:30 in the Old Fort Parker Visitor Center, announces Karmen Hoffpauir, the group’s president.
   
Hospice training scheduled!!!
    Providence Hospice of Mexia has scheduled a fall volunteer training program for four days - Tuesdays, Oct. 13 and 20, and on Thursdays, Oct. 15 and 22. Times for the programs are from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
    Site of the training programs is at Gibbs Memorial Library, 305 East Rusk Street. For additional information, you may call (254) 472-0779. The training is to help participants to receive training to be able to provide comfort and care for hospice patients and their families, according to Robilyn Reed.   
   
Praise workshop slated
    Antioch Baptist Church of Mexia will host its annual Praise and Worship workshop and concert, scheduled for this Saturday evening at 5:30.
   
Greater Haynes sets anniversary
    Greater Haynes Memorial Church of God in Christ will celebrate its pastor’s 21st anniversary and 22 years of service, this coming Sunday afternoon with a program at 3  o’clock. A pre-anniversary musical is set for Saturday afternoon at 5 o’clock. Everyone is invited. Guest choirs from Dallas, Waco, Fairfield and Corsicana will sing Saturday. Pastor Rischer of Fairfield will conduct. Superintendent C.D. Evans of Centerville will be the Sunday speaker. “Come and enjoy good singing and great preaching,” says Greater Haynes pastor, Elder C.D. Washington.       

Antioch sets Homecoming
    The public is invited to worship at Antioch Baptist Church, 610 North Denton Street, this Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock at the church’s annual Homecoming celebration, announces pastor Cleo High.
    Guest speaker will be the Rev. Darrel Hammond. Special guests will be members of his Wesley Chapel Baptist Church from Wills Point.   
   
Wheat NAACP to meet
    FAIRFIELD - The E.E. Wheat Freestone County NAACP will meet this evening at 6 o’clock on the Dogan  campus, announces Louise Brown.
