That Eveready Battery isn’t the only thing which keeps on going. Maudie SUNDAY’s many friends, along with family members, had the big birthday bash for the amazing 90-year-youngster at the home of son Gerry. I was out of town, although Peggy attended the Saturday event. Maudie has longtime been a columnist for The Mexia Daily, and now The Mexia News. She’s a wonderful person, and always thinking of others. In other words, she “gives the flowers” while folks can still enjoy ‘em. We love Maudie, and that’s something that’s pretty widespread. Keep on going, Maudie. Your presence is appreciated!!!

Obama has likened himself to President Abraham LINCOLN. He’s gotta’ be kidding. Consider the following statements made by Lincoln, in one of his many great addresses. Keep in mind actions by Obama when you read what President Lincoln said:
You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot help the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer. You cannot further the brotherhood of man by encouraging class hatred. You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich. You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than you earn. You cannot build character and courage by taking away man’s initiative and independence. You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves.

On a liberal talk show, please consider what Nancy PELOSI said last week:
“We must take a look at a value-added tax.” That is yet another broken promise of this Administration, and means if enacted by the Democratic Congress, we all will pay five percent more on our purchases. It’s a national sales tax, baby! That’s what it is and will be in addition to the sales tax you now pay for food. The middle class has already gotten strapped with taxes on various items. The Federal Income Tax will not be affected with these new taxes. You’ll continue to pay that.

Couple all of the above with the elderly’s not receiving Social Security increases for the next two years, and a big whack in Medicare, and you have some big-time re-distribution of the wealth. I guess Barack OBAMA showed Joe, the Plumber, he could do it!!!

Europe loves Obama, with his talk of how wrong America has been all these years, along with his bowing and apologies to everyone who would listen. They rewarded him by giving the Nobel Peace Prize...
