Dining and singing!!
It’s known as “Supper and Singing,” occurring once a month on a Friday night. This Friday night is the time for dining at 6:30, followed by Gospel singing at McKinney Street Baptist Church, reminds Jace Floyd.
CCC to discuss Constitution
Concerned Citizens for the Constitution (CCC), an organization encompassing citizens from Mexia, Teague, Groesbeck, Fairfield, Coolidge, Tehuacana and from throughout the Bi-Stone Area, will meet tonight at 7 o’clock in Gibbs Memorial Library. Leon County citizens are also expressing an interest in the locally-based CCC organization.
Audrey and Blaine Rindlisbacher, Constitutional instructors from the Tyler group, Grassroots America - We The People (GAWTP) will present the program.
Class of 2012 to grill burgers
The Class of 2012 members will prepare your hamburger supper (take home or to the game) this Friday evening from 5 until 7 o’clock on the junior high parking lot. Cost is $5 for each boxed burger, which includes all condiments, chips, a drink and cookie. Your box will be packed and ready to go for you to take to the game, or to your home for a quick supper.
The burgers will be grilled on site. Help to support the class of 2012. Tickets are being sold by 2012 class officers, sponsors and class members’ parents. You may also purchase your ticket, before or after school, at Mexia High School.
Maxwell family benefit set
A benefit supper for the Brian Maxwell family, will be this coming Sunday at Lancaster Post 4694, Veterans of Foreign Wars, starting at 2 p.m. The benefit, which also includes an auction and bake sale, will be $6 per person, for the meal. Donations are also being accepted. The benefit is to help defray funeral expenses for Mr. Maxwell, who died from injuries in a vehicle wreck. For additional information, please call (254) 562-9513.
Gibbs lookin’ for Friends!!
Old Friends, New Friends, “would like to be” Friends are all welcome to attend the Friends of the Library Fall meeting this coming Tuesday evening at 6 o’clock at Gibbs Memorial Library.
“We will welcome you and include you in our plans for our ‘Story in a Stocking’ event coming in December, as well as in future endeavors,” a spokesperson says.
Lamb/goat validations scheduled
Major Show lamb and goat validations for 4-H and FFA members who made purchases are scheduled for Tuesday from 4 until 7 p.m. at the Groesbeck School Farm (old County Show Barn). There will be no exceptions made, according to Limestone Extension Agent Chelsea Farris.
Kosse has city-wide garage sale
KOSSE - The annual City-Wide Garage Sale, sponsored by the Kosse Community Center, will be this Saturday. Entertainment will be provided at the Center from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Vendors are welcome to set up at the Center. Call (254) 375-2212 for additional information.
