The November 3 General Election is near, and Limestone County is leasing out equipment for conducting the election to the City of Groesbeck and to the Mount Calm Independent School District.
In another related item, the Limestone Commissioners’ Court approved the county’s conducting the election for the Groesbeck Independent School District, which has a bond election coming up.
In other action at a regularly-scheduled meeting of the Court, payment of bills was okayed, bonds on several employees were approved, $640,000 was recalled from the TexPool Fund, and some $3,000 was okayed as an expenditure for a food cart (keeps food warm) at the Limestone County Detention Center (LCDC).
Commissioners also okayed three utility line agreements, all in Precinct 4 and all for XTO; voted to establish the “financial vehicle” for the jail (this is via a public facilities corporation); approved a petition to permanently close a portion of Limestone County Roads (LCRs) 730 and 732, at request of Steve Jenkins of Luminant; signed the contract with J.E. Kingham Construction Company for construction of the Limestone Sheriff’s office and jail project, and a contract with Kingham for the 192-bed expansion of LCDC.
Documents also were signed to an amendment for the Metroplex Control Systems, Inc., to re-do the security control system at LCDC.
Other items included approval for repairs to the jail refrigeration unit at a cost of about $1,600, and approval of a couple of budget transfers in the Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace office and for the Road and Bridge Department.
