Last week, the Mexia Fightin’ Cat defense had some sort of wager going with their coach/coordinator Chris KING, who wanted five good stops (like on third-and-crucial, and on fourth downs). More such stops would have meant Coach King would have to shave his head. Sure enough, the Fightin’ Cats went beyond five. They turned in seven such stops. Chris promptly sprung into action with the barber. Same good old Chris KING under that slick dome...

The retired Naval veteran succeeds Bob RAY, who retired due to health issues. Teresa’s office is in the sub-courthouse Annex, on South McKinney Street, just south of the fire station in Mexia...

Monday evening, the Mexia City Council again had a called meeting, whipped into executive session to discuss City Manager applications, then took no action on what was discussed in the closed session. Another meeting in the series of called sessions is scheduled for next Monday evening at 5:30. Same location - in the Municipal Courtroom on North Sherman Street...
