Community Pep Rally
There will be all-district/community Pep Rally for the Mexia Black Cats on the Football field Friday at 2 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to attend.
Ft. Parker group meets tonight
The Fort Parker Historical Society will meet tonight at 6:30 in the Old Fort Parker Visitor Center, announces Karmen Hoffpauir, president of the organization.
McDonald’s helping schools
This evening is McTeacher’s Night at McDonald’s.
From 4:30 until 7:30, by ordering something at McDonald’s, you will be helping to support your schools. The deal is this - McDonald’s of Mexia is partnering with McBay Elementary and with Sims Intermediate PTA members, Administrators and teachers to donate 20 percent of all sales during this time frame.
Pt. Enterprise soup time!!
The public is invited to “join us” for homemade soup, cornbread and dessert this Saturday evening from 5 until 7 o’clock, reminds Helen Matthews. Live entertainment will be provided. Donations will be accepted and used to maintain the community center, reminds Helen. “The Clubhouse” is where the Saturday meal will be served.
Playday set for church
Cowboy Heritage Church of Freestone County will have a Playday this Saturday at the church on West Highway 84 out of Fairfield. Books open at 9 a.m., and Peewee events start at 10. Youth and Adult events come later, and include cloverleaf barrels, flag race, breakaway, goat tying and ribbon racing.
Teague class seeks help!!!
TEAGUE - The Teague High School graduating class of 1959 is planning for its 50-year class reunion. “We have lost touch with some of our class members, and we need help in locating them to inform them of the reunion,” says Randall Beasley. You may contact him at (936) 545-5909 (cell phone), and give him the address and/or telephone numbers for contact purposes.
You may also contact Judy Bournias Schick at (903) 389-4566.
It is hoped that everyone may then be notified of the dates, location and time of the reunion.
