Mexia Pee Wees Super Bowl Champs

Mexia Youth Pee Wee Football’s Busby Plumbing team won the Super Bowl Saturday in the age 7-9 division.
The game was played in Waco at the Doris Miller Family YMCA’s football field.
Mexia took the lead with a touchdown in the second half to make it 7-0. Waco Wildcats drove down the field to score to make it 7-6, Mexia. Waco needed a two-point extra point kick to take the lead. Waco kicked the extra point and it was good to take the lead 8-7, Waco.
Now with five minutes left in the game Mexia has time to try to score to win. Mexia drove down the field and scored with seconds left to bring home the victory.
The teams now will prepare for an extra bowl game on Saturday, Nov. 14 at Paul Tyson Stadium. Mexia Busby Plumbing will play at 10:30 a.m. and the age 9-10-11 West Main Street Canton team will play at 11:45 a.m. The age 9-10-11 team won third play on Saturday.
The raffle prize drawing will be Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Mexia Softball Field where the football team will practice. There will also be a parent meeting to discuss the football banquet for all of Pee Wee teams and cheerleaders.
