Thanksgiving service on November 22
    The Mexia Ministerial Alliance will host the annual community Thanksgiving worship service. This year, it’s at the First Baptist Church on Sunday night, Nov. 22, at 7 o’clock.
    A community choir will sing during the service. The Rev. Joel Robbins of Mooreville United Methodist Church will preach.   
   
Limestone Demos meet Tuesday
    The Limestone County Democratic Club (LCDC) will meet Tuesday afternoon at 5:30 in the Mexia Courthouse Annex, 205 South McKinney Street when the guest speaker will be Elenor Holmes.
    “Be sure to mark your calendars about changes in location, date and time, bring a friend and let’s make this a great meeting,” says Jo Boyd, club publicist. “All guests are welcome.”   
   
Limestone Commission to meet
    The Limestone Commissioners’ Court will meet in called session Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock in the County courtroom. Compensation for election workers is to be okayed, and a canvass of precinct returns from the Nov. 3 election will be conducted.   
   
Freedom Baptist revival set
    Freedom Baptist Church, 932 Highway 171, will have its annual Fall revival, Wednesday through Friday, Nov. 18-20 at 7 o’clock nightly. Guest speaker will be the Rev. L.B. Perry, pastor of Greater Antioch Baptist Church of Stranger. Everyone is welcome.   
   
Church sets workshop
    Inspiring Word Christian Center will present a “Grounded in Christ” workshop Saturday morning, Nov. 21, at 8 o’clock at the Center, 1150 South Fairway. Among the speakers is Sister Dichondra Banks of Mexia.       
       
NAACP Gospel Centennial canceled
    The NAACP Gospel Centennial Celebration set for this Saturday at Mexia Civic Center, has been canceled, says the Rev. R.H. Bollin, Branch President.
