Ruby Nell Hitt
 (Posted 11/12/2009 02:12 pm)
Ruby Nell Hitt, 88, passed away November 10, 2009 at her home in Garland.  Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 13, 2009 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel.
Visitation with the family will be 5-7 p.m., Thursday, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home.
Ruby was born April 24, 1921 in Personville, Texas to L. C. and Donie Hardison.  Ruby’s passion was her family.  She was a devout wife and mother to her husband of 69 years, James Hitt and their children, Sandra and Jimmy.  She was one of eight children in her family.  Ruby took so much joy in helping raise her younger brothers, Jerry and Calvin.  Throughout her life she enjoyed fishing, cooking homemade meals and celebrating life with her family.  She did this by organizing all family reunions and events.  She always, lovingly, volunteered to help care for her grandchildren, niece, nephews and great-grandchildren.  Ruby was, also, involved in the Eastern Star and Rainbow Chapter.  Both, Ruby and James were members of the First United Methodist Church of Mexia.  Now the family is at peace knowing that their sweet Mamaw is fishing with Jesus!
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Harvey, Milton, Truman and Calvin.
Ruby is survived by her husband, James Earl Hitt; son, James Edwin Hitt; daughter, Sandra Watts; brothers, Jerry Hardison and wife, Linda and Ray Hardison and wife, Jo; grandchildren, Darla Herman and husband, Mark, Jana Shaw and husband, Barron, Shelly McConnico and husband, David, Michael Watts and wife, Stacy, Jessica Mather and husband, Jaime; and great-grandchildren, Austin and Ashlyn McConnico, Jacob and Hazel Herman, Parker, Gavin, Gracy and Ruby Watts, Grace Ann and Abigal Shaw and Isabella Mather.
