Bueford Nelson Owens, Jr.
Bueford Nelson Owens, Jr., of Wortham, passed away November 11, 2009 at Parkview Regional Hospital in Mexia. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Wortham Cemetery, with Bro. Brian Hallmark officiating. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service at the cemetery.
Bueford was born August 8, 1948 at Christoffer & Brown Clinic in Mexia, Texas to Bueford Nelson and Neva Darcus Layton Owens. He went to schools in Crosbyton, Texas, Idalou, Texas, Roaring Springs, Texas Crowell, Texas, Vernon, Texas and graduated from Mexia High School in 1968. After graduation, he went into the Army that August. During his six years in the service, Bueford served in Korea, Thailand and Okinawa. After he completed his service he worked for several businesses including; Brown Oil & Gas, Teague Brick & Tile Co., City of Mexia, City of Wortham, City of Streetman, KDT Construction and several drilling companies. He married Linda Sue Hicks on October 1, 1971 at Lake Mexia.
Bueford was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Thomas Owens and nephew, Ollie Hick, Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Sue Owens; sons, Allen Owens, Sr. & fiancé Tiffany Webb, Micheal Owens & wife, Sandra, all of Wortham; daughters, Jymi Ranjel of Crowell, Texas, Tara Lee Owens of Louisiana; son-in-law, Joe Beldin of Wortham; grandchildren, Allen Owens, Jr., John Owens, Emma Owens, Kirstie Owens, all of Teague, Rieley Dolen of Mildred, Mason and Kadence Russell of Teague, Ryan Beldin of Wortham and Carla Hodge of Wortham; sister, Tina Hicks and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers are Dub Webb, Robbie Castlow, Buckey Castlow, Larry Beldin, Joe Beldin and Jason Hicks.
