Ms. Sykes was born on May 7, 1933, in Hubbard, to Alvie and Willie Webb Woodall. She was a care giver to many residents around the area as well as a homemaker in her own home.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Sykes of Wortham; children, Barbara Ferlund and husband, Eddie of Merrill, Ore., and Joe Smith and wife, RayeNelle of Ennis; grandchildren, Richard and Karla Pool of Rand, Colo., Cody and Amanda Ferlund of Malian, Ore., Keith and Chassity Smith of Mexia, Misty Smith of Mexia, Kala Van Winkle of Teague, Josh and Ronda Smith of Augusta, Ga., and Karla Nelson of Waco; step-daughter, Nicole Dodd of Corsicana; step-sons, Bobby Sykes Jr. and Larry Don Sykes, both of Corsicana, as well as numerous great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers are Raydale Smith, Brian Trantham, Bradley Trantham, Alvie Woodall, Russ Trantham and Bubba Dodd. Honorary pallbearers are Josh Smith, Keith Smith, Garrett Nelson, Cody Ferlund, Richard, Pool, Brayden Cornelison, Cash Ferlund, Cauy Pool, Dolan Pool, Ethan Hodge and Tyler Baskin.
