Schools Museum to host art show

The Mexia Public Schools Museum is pleased to present an outstanding art show on Saturday, May 17th from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM at the museum at 616 North Red River-top floor of the school administration building. Refreshments will be served, and admission is free..

Barbara Vest, art show chairman, is enthusiastic over the response of the artists who will display their works. Members of the Freestone County Art League will participate as well as former Mexia resident award winning Winnie Giddens and her daughter Audrey McCullough.

A variety of techniques and subjects will be shown by many other Mexia and the surrounding area artists. There is also the possibility of an art demo by one of the participates.

Other welcomed additions to the show will be the students of Wortham Schools art teacher Jennifer Paden and Fairfield Schools art teacher Susan Walsh, On permanent display in the building are portraits by Mexia high School art teacher Mark Collins’ students.

The public is cordially invited to attend.
