Officers’ Memorial Week set

The week of May 15, 2008 has been designated Peace Officer’s Memorial Week. May 15th has been designated as Peace Officer’s Memorial Day.

The Limestone County Peace Officer’s Association will have its 2nd annual Peace Officer Memorial Ceremony on May 15, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. This ceremony will be held at Hawkins Park in Groesbeck, Texas.

There will be a color guard, placing of the ceremonial wreath, playing of TAPS, and a 21 gun salute. The names of those officer killed in the line of duty will be called as officers place a carnation at the ceremonial wreath in honor of their sacrifice.

Everyone across the county is encouraged to attend and show their support for those officers who have paid the ultimate price in protecting Limestone County.
