Mexia ISD Teacher of the Month

The Mexia ISD is proud to announce that Mrs. Kay Goodrum is the “Teacher of the Month” for A. B. McBay Elementary. Mrs. Goodrum was selected for her use of Marzano's nine research based instructional strategies in her second grade classroom on a daily basis. Mrs. Goodrum latest idea was to make an interactive power point using the weekly vocabulary words. Upon completion of the student's morning work and group rotation they would be able to use the computer while learning and reviewing vocabulary words for the week. This idea was so great that it is now a staff development that is being used through out the district with the Technology Department. We are proud of the way Mrs. Kay Goodrum is implementing research based instructional strategies in her classroom.

The Mexia ISD is honoring teachers throughout the district that are embracing the strategies stressed in our instructional initiative, C.A.T.S. (Classroom Activities that Succeed). These teachers exemplify the outstanding group of educators that serve the students of the Mexia ISD everyday.
