News10’s OUR TOWN project coming to Mexia

Beginning Monday, August 4, News 10 reporters and anchors will offer a series of stories, reports and interviews that will speak to Mexia’s history, present activities and great future. The Mexia Chamber Of Commerce is assisting News 10 is gathering positive stories about the people and lifestyles of Mexia.

Our goal is to expose Mexia’s hidden jewels to the rest of our viewing area. There are more than 500,000 people living and working in central Texas and many may not know the story of Mexia and its people. “We hope to change that,” according to Virgil Teter, KWTX Vice President of News.

Communities are made up of many people involved in many endeavors; from government, education, the community of faith and those who create the commerce that moves the community forward. News 10 is searching for stories that will capture the attention of our viewers and leave a positive feeling about life in Mexia.

KWTX Television is the CBS affiliate for Central Texas. The station went on the air in 1955 and serves the 14 county Waco-Mexia-Bryan DMA. KWTX produces19 local newscasts each week and has been consistently the leader in news viewership for the past 32 years, according to the A.C. Nielsen and the Arbitron ratings companies.
