Better get used to 4-way stop signs at Tyler and Bonham streets

By Bob Wright-Editor

Some motorists have run right on through the new Tyler Street stop signs.

Old habits are hard to break. Traditionally, Tyler Street has been a major thoroughfare, and motorists have not had to worry about stopping.

Bonham Street, where it connects on both sides of Tyler, has long had stop signs. However, the stop signs (two of ‘em) on Tyler Street, means to stop at the Bonham-Tyler intersection.

So far, there might not have been tickets issued, but several motorists zipped right through the stop signs, unaware they had been placed there. Several folks have called to complain that before installation of the signs, no warnings or announcements were made. At least, we know of none that were.

So, be aware of the four-way stop at Tyler and Bonham. The Tyler Street “stoppers” will be difficult in “getting used to,” one “sign runner” said.

Good luck, and don’t be ticketed!!!
