Body found in Limestone County

Wednesday at approximately 2:30 p.m. the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a suspicious vehicle parked at a gas well location, approximately two miles east of the intersection of State Highway 164 and Highway 39.

Limestone County Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrived on location and observed a male in the back seat of a black Chevrolet Suburban. He was deceased.

Investigators were later able to determine that this vehicle first appeared at this location on Monday, July 14. This information was obtained from an XTO contract oil field worker. Judge Marcus Ray Hanna, Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace, was called to the scene to assist in this death investigation and to pronounce death.

The body was ordered to be sent to the Dallas County Medical Examiners Office for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. The victim has been identified as William David Luedke, a 51-year-old white male, whose date of birth was Oct. 25,1957, and he had a Crockett, Texas address.

Based on information and evidence recovered from this death scene, a ruling on the exact cause of death will be made later by medical professionals. Notification of next of kin has been made with the assistance of the Houston County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigations of this death will continue as follow up information is collected by Limestone County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigators. At this time Investigators believe there is no foul play involved.
