Mexia Little Dribblers Girl Allstars set for Regionals

The Mexia Little Dribblers age 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14 girl Allstars will go the Regional Tournament in Teague Texas. The Tournament will be for Allstar girl teams from around the area cities. The Tournament will begin on Thursday and continue until Saturday. Mexia has three strong teams going into the Tournament with high hopes of winning and qualifying for the Big 4 day girls National Little Dribblers Tournament to be held in Navasota Texas on June 11-14,2008. The 11-12 girls of last year were National Champions. These young ladies are now 13-14 girls Allstars and are trying to win Regionals and try to repeat as National Champions.

Mexia Summer Track Signups and Practice Begins

Mexia Youth Summer Track will begin signups and have their first practice on this Wednesday May14, 2008 at the Mexia High School Track. The ages for track are ages 4 thru 18 both boys and girls. The fee is $35.00 for each child to participate in the Track program. The fees cover the uniform shirt and shorts, insurance and TAAF registration fee to be registered to run track at the Regional and State Track meets. Practice and signups will be at the Track on Wednesday at 6pm until 7pm. If you would like more information come out to the track and we will be glad to answer your questions for you.

Last year was the first year with the new Track program had 64 participants and 18 Tracksters Qualified and made it to the State Summer Track meet in Austin Texas. This year 2008 the TAAF Games of Texas State Track meet will be in San Antonio Texas July 24-27.

Mexia Athlete Physicals Scheduled

To All Mexia Athletes,

At Mexia all athletes are required to have a new physical on file every year before they can participate in a sport. Athletes are not required to go through these physicals and may go to their family physician. We have arranged several days for physicals at a reduced cost of $10 at the Mexia Field House. Please send cash or money orders NO CHECKS as we will be unsure of which practitioner that the athlete will be seeing. The following is the schedule for time and date:

Incoming 7th & 8th Girls Tuesday 5/13 beginning at 6:00pm

Incoming 9th - 12th Girls Monday 5/19 beginning at 6:00pm

Incoming 9th - 12th Boys Tuesday 5/22 beginning at 6:00 pm

Dress in T-shirt, Shorts and Shoes.

If you cannot make your scheduled time or day you must notify the Athletic Trainer to reschedule your physical before your scheduled time listed above. Physicals are done on a first come first serve basis. If the forms are not completely filed out IN PEN and signed IN PEN, the athlete may not receive a physical until it is completed and signed and they will loose their place in line.
