Samuel Ray Chambers

Funeral services for Samuel Ray (Pete) Chambers, 61, of Bryan, will be held Saturday afternoon (April 26, 2008) at 1 o’clock in Dorsey/Keatts Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. Henry Chambers, Jr. Burial will be in Rocky Branch Cemetery.

Mr. Chambers, born in Freestone County on March 23, 1947, died in Bryan on April 20, 2008. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church.

A former Wortham resident, Mr. Chambers had been a Construction worker.

Surviving are his twin brother, Billy Ray (Mike) Chambers and sister-in-law, Alice of Corsicana; four sisters - Willie Pearl Strain, Eula (Peg) Brown, Wander Jean Jones, all of Mexia, and Annie Spence and husband Jessie of Wortham; a host of nieces and nephews who dearly loved him; a special cousin and friend, Billy Frank Freeman of Bryan, and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers are Rickey Spence, Bobby Joe Smith, Reggie Echols, Edward Brown, Brando Chambers, George Chambers, Oscar Strain, Jr., James Chambers, J.W. Chambers and Ray Randle.
